by Amirul Ashraff 2 comments

Before Begining This Tutorial I Recommend You To Read This Brief Explanation About Resource Hacker.

Windows 7 have a quite similar progress dialog box. To create a similar progress dialog box in XP you can use Resource Hacker. You can download the Resource Hacker Here

First, you need to go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\Shell32.dll file in Resource Hacker and go to the Dialog-1020-1033 in the left pane.

After that, replace the code in the right pane with this code:
NOTE: BACKUP THE TEXT IN THE RIGHT PANE IN CASE ANYTHING GO WRONG

http://gxmail03.googlepages.com/7_Dialog_box_code.txt

After you enter the code, click on the Compile Script button on the top.

Then replace the AVIs in the file with the following zip file.

http://gxmail03.googlepages.com/Progress_Dialog_Box_AVIs.zip

After you extract the zip file, replace the AVIs with the correct file in correct manner:

AVI -> 160 ->1033 with 160.avi
AVI -> 161 ->1033 with 161.avi
AVI -> 162 ->1033 with 162.avi
AVI -> 163 ->1033 with 162.avi
AVI -> 164 ->1033 with 162.avi

After that, all that you need is add the BMP file

Download The BMP FILE

After extracting the BMP file from it, add it at 404 location in file. Just click on Action -> Add a new resource and then click on Open file with new resource button. Select the downloaded BMP file and click on Open. Now in Resource Name enter 404 and in Resource Language enter 1033 and click on Add Resource button. That's it.

Thanks-ASKVG
